  Johann Deterville, professionally known as Yogi The Producer is a platinum selling, billboard charting music producer , who was born on November 27th, in the small village of Anse La Raye in Saint Lucia. Yogi was born into a family of musicians, and his mother, Petronilla Deterville, was his biggest inspiration. Growing up, Yogi was surrounded by music and started experimenting with creating beats and melodies at a young age.

 

After completing his secondary education, Yogi pursued his passion for music and attended the Centre for Arts and Technology where he studied music production and sound engineering. During this time, Yogi honed his skills and developed a unique sound that would later set him apart as a producer. Yogi’s career started taking shape when he moved to Toronto, Canada where his talent caught the attention of industry professionals, and he was offered opportunities to work with major artists from Toronto. Yogi quickly established himself as a producer for R&B and hip-hop music, and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Savannah Re, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Joyner Lucas, Kehlani, James Blake, Giveon, A Boogie Wit The Hoodie, Kayo and Jessie Reyez to name a few.

 

One of Yogi's most notable accomplishments was scoring the music for the critically acclaimed video game, Spider-Man Miles Morales. Yogi's work on the game's soundtrack earned him the prestigious BAFTA award for best video game soundtrack. Additionally, Yogi has won three (3) JUNO awards for his work on 'Solid', '24 HRS' and 'Last One' by Savannah Re, who also happens to be his wife. The JUNO awards is Canada’s most prestigious award for musicians which Yogi has been nominated a total of nine times for his work in the music industry. Currently, Yogi is signed to a publishing deal with hit producer Boi-1da, with whom he works closely on various projects. Despite his success in R&B and hip-hop, Yogi is always pushing the boundaries and exploring new sounds, refusing to limit himself to a single genre. His love for music and dedication to his craft have made him one of the most sought-after producers in the industry.
